Vecchie Terre Di Montefili Chianti Classico 2017
Region: Tuscany, Italy
Vecchie Terre di Montefili is a historic estate situated in the heart of Chianti Classico. Grapes have been grown for winemaking for at least 750 years on hills within the farm's current boundary. For most of those years, the monks of the nearby Badia a Passignano tended the vines. In 1979 Roccaldo Acuti purchased the land and transformed the property into a potent force in the revival of Chianti Classico.
2017 has produced a medium bodied Chianti. Bright floral overtones make a bold opening statement. Sweet red cherry and rose petal are some of the nuances that develop over time, with blackberry and walnut aromas, following through to a full body with round and chewy tannins. A flavourful finish. This shows ageing potential.
