This reserve wine is named in honour of my Great Grandfather who once farmed this ruggedly beautiful piece of land that is now Amherst Winery. Fruit selectively handpicked, wild yeast fermented and then basket pressed. The wine was then left to mature on quality French oak for nearly 3 years. Dense and dark in appearance, the wine shows aromas of dark cherries and clove. The palate is concentrated and complex with layers of dark fruits, middle eastern spices and mocha are interwoven with fine-grained tannins. It is a very limited release.
